The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has renewed its cooperation protocol with the National Telecommunications Institute (NTI) to ensure the periodic measurement of electromagnetic power from mobile stations using advanced global technologies. This renewal aims to confirm that mobile stations adhere to internationally permissible limits set by regulations from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Health and Population, and the Ministry of Environment.
The updated protocol, signed by Eng. Mohamed Shamroukh, CEO of NTRA, and Dr. Ahmed Khattab, Director of NTI, focuses on using the latest technology to monitor electromagnetic capacity, ensuring environmental safety and compliance with health standards. It also includes developing an integrated digital measurement system, aligning with the Ministry’s digital transformation strategy.
Eng. Shamroukh highlighted the role of specialized engineers and experts in assessing mobile stations’ compliance with safety requirements and international standards. Dr. Khattab emphasized the NTI’s long-standing expertise and its contribution to advancing the telecommunications sector through research, training, and knowledge transfer.
