Bolivia’s telecommunications regulator, the Autoridad de Regulación y Fiscalización de Telecomunicaciones y Transportes (ATT), has updated the list of telecommunications equipment subject to mandatory homologation, with the changes taking effect on January 28, 2026.
The updated list outlines the categories of telecom products that must obtain regulatory approval before being imported, marketed, or operated in Bolivia. Homologation ensures that telecommunications equipment complies with national technical standards, safety requirements, and spectrum regulations.
Manufacturers, importers, and distributors are advised to review the revised list carefully to determine whether their products fall within the scope of the new requirements. Failure to comply with homologation obligations may result in delays, penalties, or restrictions on market access.
The ATT’s update reflects its ongoing efforts to strengthen regulatory oversight of the telecommunications sector and to ensure the proper functioning and interoperability of equipment within Bolivia’s communications networks. For more information kindly reach out to: typeapproval@5mglobal.com |
