The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has issued a circular introducing new on-product labelling requirements for products covered under ten specific technical regulations, effective 1 October 2026. The affected products must display the supplier’s name (importer or local manufacturer) and commercial registration number directly on the product, rather than only on the packaging or accompanying documents. The requirement applies to LPG tankers, watercraft, tanks, trailers and semi-trailers, electric scooters, simple pressure vessels, child restraint systems and strollers, hydraulic products, solar photovoltaic systems, and electrical lifts. From the effective date, Certificates of Conformity will not be issued for non-compliant products. SASO will conduct random sampling and review technical files through the SABER platform to monitor compliance, with penalties applicable to non-compliant conformity assessment bodies. Manufacturers and importers should review the requirements, update product labels, and coordinate with their conformity assessment bodies to ensure compliance before the deadline and avoid certification delays. |
