The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) of the Philippines has issued Memorandum Circular No. 004-06-2026, dated 29 June 2026, updating the operating parameters for Short Range Devices (SRDs) used for movement detection and alerts. The key change is the introduction of a new 77–81 GHz frequency allocation with a maximum EIRP of 50 mW, covering applications such as automotive radar and industrial sensing. The specified power limits apply to all operating modes of the equipment and must not be exceeded. The circular will take effect 15 days after its publication in a newspaper of general circulation and filing with the Office of the National Administrative Register. Manufacturers and suppliers should review their products’ operating frequencies and power levels to ensure compliance with the revised requirements. |
