Lebanon’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), through Notification TRA/PRE/327-020926 dated 2 September 2026, clarified that type approval certificates for telecom equipment are issued in the manufacturer’s name or through an authorised representative. A single certificate for an approved product/model can be used by all importers of the same product, eliminating the need for separate approvals for multiple distributors or importers. This clarification simplifies the type approval process, reduces duplicate filings, and facilitates market access for telecom equipment in Lebanon. Manufacturers and importers should still confirm applicable requirements regarding import licences, TRA conformity labelling, certificate validity, and previously issued approvals.
