The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of Bahrain published a Position Paper on the Use of Licence-Exempt Frequency Bands on 1 July 2026. The paper provides guidance on the use of frequency bands that can be operated without an individual spectrum licence, subject to specific technical and regulatory conditions. These licence-exempt bands are commonly used by technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other short-range wireless devices.

The publication is intended to provide greater clarity to manufacturers, importers, and users regarding the applicable requirements and conditions for operating wireless equipment in Bahrain without requiring an individual frequency licence.
