The authority ARCOTEL of Ecuador issued by Resolution 03-03-ARCOTEL-2017 of May 10, 2017 and published in the Official Registry No. 15 of June 15, 2017

This makes it possible to leverage other approvals than FCC or EU in order to obtain Type Approval in Ecuador.

The current list of entities accepted for type approval:

1. National Telecommunications Agency of Brazil (ANATEL)
2. Bureau Of Indian Standards (BIS)
3. China’s Ministry Of Industry and Information Technology (CMIIT)
4. European Community (CE) / Declarations of Conformity (DoC)
5. European Telecommunications Standard Institute (ETSI)
6. Federal Communications Commission of the United States of America (FCC)
7. Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS)
8. National Communications Commission of Taiwan (NCC)
9. The Certification and Engineering Bureau of industry of Canada (CEBIC)

The Agencia de regulación y Control de las Telecomunicaciones (ARCOTEL) in Ecuador has organized public hearings to receive comments regarding proposed changes to the local type approval process.  The public hearings will take place on September 4, 2020.  Comments may also be sent to ARCOTEL and must be submitted by August 31, 2020. Proposed changes would include applications moving to an online platform, with no application fees.
