The enforcement date for the 5G n71 frequency band, as outlined in technical specification GEN002, has been extended from April 1, 2024, to January 1, 2025. This extension applies to mobile phones, tablets, mobile computers, mobile routers, and CPEs.

 

As per GEN002, devices must support specific frequency bands based on the technology they utilize. For LTE, the mandatory bands include B1, B3, B8, B20, B28, B40, and B41 (2540-2640MHz). For 5G NR, devices must support n1, n3, n8, n28, n40, n41, n71, n77, and n78. However, the enforcement of n71 will commence on January 1, 2025.
