On 11th July 2025, the Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) announced it is finalizing the rollout of a new Type Approval Management System to replace the existing one.

Effective after 25th July 2025, no Type Approval certificates—including corrections—will be issued through the old system. All new applications must be submitted via the new system going forward.
