Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) Introduces New Type Approval Labeling Regulation
The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) has recently announced a new Type Approval labeling regulation, which came into effect on 1st December 2024.
The updated regulation requires that all approved devices must feature:
1. The Authority’s logo
2. The model of the equipment
3. The alphanumeric Type Approval identification of the equipment
Additionally, the color and font of the label must comply with the specified regulations.
MACRA has clarified that the new labeling requirements will only apply to applications submitted after 1st December 2024. Any approvals granted before this date will not be affected by the new regulations.
