Nepal’s NTA announced to monitor the market to enforce the certification of cell phones.

According to NTA this monitoring is to tackle the high ratio of 50% of handsets without certification. Customers will have to provide their handset’s IMEI to obtain a SIM card to prevent the usage of unregistered phones.

The Type Approval Certification itself will be improved and helped by consultants.
