Bidding for 4G and 5G Frequency Blocks Kicks Off

The bidding process for frequency blocks AA’, BB’, HH’, and JJ’ began on Wednesday, organized by the National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel) and managed by the Caracas Stock Exchange (BVC). The auction, which runs until January 30, is supervised by the National Securities Superintendency (Sunaval) and aims to promote transparent, orderly proceedings through BVC’s technological solutions. Conatel’s general director, Jorge Márquez, highlighted its importance for telecommunications. This follows a public offer announced in December to enhance connectivity and technological modernization. Service providers submitted their technical, economic, and legal qualifications by January 9. The auction allows providers to acquire spectrum for offering more advanced services.
