CONATEL Introduces Resolution No. 3171 to Elevate Mobile Device Standards

CONATEL, Paraguay’s National Commission of Telecommunications, has rolled out Resolution No. 3171 to bolster the quality of cellular mobile devices within the country. This resolution endorses the technical standard NTC-T-IMT:2023, setting a comprehensive framework for conformity assessment.
 
The NTC-T-IMT:2023 standard ensures that mobile devices meet essential criteria for homologation, aligning with global telecommunications standards. It mandates adherence to power limits, emissions criteria, and authorized frequency bands, fostering optimal device performance and minimal network interference.
 
Additionally, the standard encompasses specifications for mobile device technologies, requiring compliance with established norms and criteria for operation within Paraguay’s telecommunications networks.

CONATEL Opens 918-928MHz Band for ISM, SRD, RFID and LPWAN Products

CONATEL in Paraguay released Resolución Directorio N. 1269/2020 with an effective date of June 17, 2020 that has opened the 918-928MHz frequency band for use by the following product types:

  • Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM)
  • Short Range Devices (SRDs)
  • Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)
  • Low-Power Wide-Area Network (LPWAN)

The products must comply with the RF parameters established in the technical standard for each product type.  Devices not mentioned above currently may not use this frequency band
