MCMC Opens Spectrum for Wi-Fi 6E

The Malaysian Regulator SIRIM has recently published that SRD utilizing frequency bands of 5925 MHz–6425 MHz, such as Wi-Fi 6E could currently be approved and certified.

As laboratory testings are mandatory for compliance approval, there are 2 ways to get a product certified in Malaysia:

Using an already available test report which meets the requirements of ETSI EN 303 687 draft standard (or equivalent standards). Importantly, the standard must be included in the accreditation scope of the testing laboratory.

If there are no test reports for a product which is to be approved, electromagnetic Compability (EMC) and Radio Frequency (RF) testings can be alternatively conducted at the SIRIM Lab.

The frequency band and output power requirements can be found in HERE

Which also determines essential requirements for devices: maximum EIRP is 25 mW for indoor and outdoor use, and 200 mW only indoors
