Bolivia ATT Revises the List of Telecommunications Products Subject to Homologation

Bolivia’s telecommunications regulator, the Autoridad de Regulación y Fiscalización de Telecomunicaciones y Transportes (ATT), has updated the list of telecommunications equipment subject to mandatory homologation, with the changes taking effect on January 28, 2026.

The updated list outlines the categories of telecom products that must obtain regulatory approval before being imported, marketed, or operated in Bolivia. Homologation ensures that telecommunications equipment complies with national technical standards, safety requirements, and spectrum regulations.

Manufacturers, importers, and distributors are advised to review the revised list carefully to determine whether their products fall within the scope of the new requirements. Failure to comply with homologation obligations may result in delays, penalties, or restrictions on market access.

The ATT’s update reflects its ongoing efforts to strengthen regulatory oversight of the telecommunications sector and to ensure the proper functioning and interoperability of equipment within Bolivia’s communications networks.

NBTC Thailand Mandates Electrical Safety Testing for Bluetooth Equipment

Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has updated its certification requirements for Bluetooth and other 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz radio devices under NBTC Technical Standard TS 1035-2562. The update clarifies that electrical safety test reports are now mandatory for Bluetooth devices as part of the Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity (SDoC).

The change expands earlier rules that applied only to Wi-Fi equipment, bringing Bluetooth, BLE, Zigbee, SRDs, IoT devices, and Wi-Fi products under the same safety scope.

From 1 February 2026, certification applications must include RF test reports, SAR reports (if applicable), and electrical safety test reports demonstrating compliance with standards such as IEC 60950-1, IEC 62368-1, or TIS 1561–2013. Applications submitted before 31 January 2026 may still proceed without the safety report under transitional arrangements.

Vietnam Updates ICT and Telecom Equipment Management Under Circular 29/2025/TT-BKHCN

Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology has issued Circular 29/2025/TT-BKHCN, updating management rules for ICT and telecommunications products. The regulation takes full effect on 31 December 2025, replacing Circular 02/2024/TT-BTTTT, and aims to simplify conformity procedures while aligning with international testing practices.

Key changes include allowing normal-condition testing for most ICT products from 1 July 2025, except for Wi-Fi transceivers, which must still undergo severe-condition testing. The scope of regulated products is expanded to include industrial computers, and a phased rollout of the new SAR standard (QCVN 134:2024/BTTTT) begins in 2026 for mobile/5G devices and in 2027 for laptops, tablets, and DECT phones.

The circular also introduces mandatory compliance for Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 devices operating in the 6 GHz band and removes previous import quantity exemptions, requiring full compliance for all imported ICT and telecom products regardless of volume.

PTA Pakistan Unveils Revised Framework for Terrestrial IoT and SRD Regulations

Pakistan’s Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has released Version 1.4 of its revised regulatory framework for Short Range Devices (SRD) and Terrestrial IoT, effective 18 December 2025. The update sets out revised technical, regulatory, and spectrum management requirements for the operation, deployment, and licensing of SRD and IoT systems in Pakistan.

The framework replaces earlier versions and introduces updated frequency allocations, technical limits, and device registration procedures to improve spectrum efficiency and reduce interference. Key elements include refined power limits, duty cycles, antenna requirements, mandatory PTA Type Approval for all relevant equipment, and clarification that SRD devices may operate licence-exempt, while IoT service providers must obtain appropriate PTA authorization. The revisions also align Pakistan’s SRD and IoT regulations with international standards to support interoperability.

ARCEP Updates Rules for Equipment Approval

The national telecommunications regulator has formally confirmed the full enforcement of several key provisions introduced under its updated Type Approval Regulations and the recently issued implementation Decision.
According to the regulator, three areas are now subject to strict and systematic application. These include sample submission requirements—particularly for terminal devices that require physical evaluation—clear demonstration of data protection and information security obligations, and compliance with mandatory type-approval labeling rules.

The regulator clarified that these requirements apply uniformly to both new type approval applications and those already under review. As a result, all applicants are required to align their submissions with the updated regulatory framework to ensure continued compliance.
