The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) has issued a Class License for the use of Radio Local Area Network (RLAN) devices over the lower part (5925 – 6425 MHz) of the 6 GHz band (5925 – 7125 MHz)
CRA announced that effective immediately, the lower part of the 6 GHz band (5925-6425 MHz) is available for the use of RLAN devices

The Mexican Secretariat of Economics informed on the new standard NMX-I-J-324-NYCE-ANCE-2022 on self-ballasted LED lamps for general lighting services including safety requirements and test methods. This standard determines safety and interchangeability requirements and describes the relevant test methods and conditions showing the capability of LED lamps to meet the listed requirements. The standard applies to household self-ballasted LED lamps or ones with the similar general lighting purposes that have:
rated wattage up to 150 W
rated voltage of > 50 V up to 277 V
Caps with specific characteristics.
The National Mexican standard is based on IEC 62560 standard. However, it can’t be treated as a similar one as it has national differences with regard to its structure and procedural matter.
The Mexican new standard NMX-IJ-324-NYCE-ANCE-2022 will enter into force 180 calendar days after publication of this Declaration of Validity in the Official Gazette of the Federation.
Thus, the standard becomes effective on 13 September 2022.

The Info-communications Media Development Authority of Singapore extends the deadline for compliance with security requirements for residential gateways (IMDA TS RG-SEC)
IMDA TS RG-SEC defines the minimum technical security requirements for design and management of residential gateways to home IoT devices
This IMDA Technical Specification sets out to minimize the vulnerability of the these gateways, ensuring that these devices are better protected when purchased and operated by consumers.
This mitigates both the communication networks, as well as the home IoT devices from security threats from the internet.
Devices marketed and sold for consumer operation in Singapore must comply with IMDA TS RG-SEC by May 2nd, 2022. Any model of device not in compliance by this date may no longer be sold or distributed by suppliers for local use by consumers.

TEC issued a notification requiring the submission of Energy Consumption Rating (ECR) test reports for all Essential Requirements (ERs) starting January 1, 2023. The parameter name and standard to be tested will be added to the ERs for OEM and lab preparation

Government of the Russian Federation, in the middle of March (14 March 2022) published decree No.353 “On special provisions related to authorization procedures in the Russian Federation in 2022” dated by March 12, 2022.
According to annex No. 18 (peculiarities of product conformity assessment, validity of conformity documents and its extension as well as product and sample import), the Government of the Russian Federation decrees that the validity of conformity certificates and declarations (further – CoC and DoC) will be extended for a period of 12 months in case the expiry date of a CoC/DoC falls between March, 14th 2022 and September, 1st 2022. Additionally, manufacturers and importers have the right to refuse to provide documents on conformity assessment in case they import either spare parts for repairs or component parts for products and machines manufactured in Russia.

Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has approved and published the Technical Codes for IMT-2020 (FIFTH GENERATION) – CELLULAR BOOSTER EQUIPMENT and GLOBAL SYSTEM FOR MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS AND LONG-TERM EVOLUTION – CELLULAR BOOSTER EQUIPMENT on 24th August 2021.
These Technical Codes are:
All GSM, LTE and 5G CBE that are to be imported, distributed, and/or used in Malaysia shall be certified in accordance with these Technical Codes. Thus, all new applications which fulfill the Technical Code and Certification Requirements for Compliance Approval (Type Approval) on Communication, Multimedia and Hybrid Equipment, eTAC/DOC/01-1.1 (“Certification Requirements”) will be granted full approval and are allowed for a maximum validity period of five (5) years.
Renewal application for existing approval of GSM, LTE and 5G Booster Equipment are no longer allowed. These existing applications will be expired effective immediately. A new application (Normal Application) is required, and it shall meet the new technical code requirements for Cellular Booster Equipment

ENACOM update Technical Standard “ENACOM-Q2-60.14 V21.1 Low Power Devices” to introduce an updated Testing Standard for Low Power Devices (SRD).
New SRD low frequency bands have been included:
♦490 – 1.705 MH
♦705 – 30 MHz
ENACOM has granted a grace period of 90 calendar days to allow new and ongoing applications to be evaluated under the former Standard ENACOM-Q2-60.14 V20. No new testing will be required for renewals, as long as the test reports show compliance with the new limits.
